The International Tourism Management degrees at Chester are full of opportunities and enjoy high student satisfaction and progression to employment.
Chester offers the chance to study in one of the UK’s top tourism destinations, it was voted the second best place in the UK to live in 2017 and receives over 9M visitors each year. Our industry links provide unrivalled internship opportunities with Royal Caribbean International which are unique to Chester.
Rhianna Rees, from Staffordshire, was one of seven students who began internships with the famous cruise line brand Royal Caribbean in May. The students gained first-hand experience of the tourism industry and Rhianna and fellow intern Hannah Jarret have now been invited to join the company in permanent roles when they graduate, after impressing the cruise line with their work over their five-week placements.
Our graduates gain employment in a variety of roles. We caught up with former student Chloe Griffin when she took part in a guest speaker panel speaking to our students at the Tourism Management Institute (TMI) Convention recently.
Chloe Griffin
“Over three years ago I left the University of Chester with hopes of one day getting my dream job as a Tourism Officer. This is a role I never expected to get but somehow I have achieved it!
“I now work as a Tourism Officer at Broadland District Council; a local authority within Norfolk, and one of the few councils in the UK still investing in a Tourism Officer role. I am passionate about using tourism to rejuvenate locations, provide new facilities and more jobs.
“I couldn’t be happier with my choice to study at the University of Chester. The excellent staff and services were so useful in helping me to excel in the profession I am in today.”
