The International Centre is delighted to welcome its latest member of the team.

Ali Raza Tariq is our new Country Liaison Officer for Pakistan and will be predominantly based in-country. Ali has become our latest in-country officer, joining our members of staff based in China, Bangladesh, India and South East Asia.

The role of an in-country Liaison Officer is to assist international students throughout their journey at the University- from the very start of the application process, right through to settling in the UK and making Chester their new home.

Tell us a bit about your background

I am from the bustling city of Lahore, Pakistan and have spent most of my life here. It is the second-biggest city in Pakistan, famous for its food, culture and heritage. I have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business and most recently, an MBA from the Institute of Management Sciences, Lahore. For the last seven-years, I have been working in the UK higher education sector.

Tell us about your role at University of Chester

I will lead on University of Chester operations in Pakistan which will include; marketing, student recruitment, conversion and visa support activities. I will manage existing agent networks and work with various academic partners.

How do you feel about starting this role?

I am immensely proud to be part of the Chester family and cannot wait to support students on their journey to the University.

What are your ambitions in this role?

I aim to create a strong University of Chester footprint in Pakistan by guiding prospective students and developing healthy relationships with various contacts in the higher education sector.

How can you help students in Pakistan who want to study in Chester?

I have more than seven-years’ experience in UK higher education and can advise students on how to join University of Chester in a hassle-free manner. I can answer their queries, guide them on the application process, address their visa/immigration questions and share information about life in the beautiful city of Chester.
