If you’re planning on attending one of our Open Days, there are a number of things you can consider in advance to help you make the most of your visit.
Book a Place
Booking your place for one of our Open Days is straightforward: simply select your subject(s) of interest and you will be directed to the right campus and Open Day dates for you.
Plan Your Travel Arrangements
Once you’ve booked your place you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please note, some of our campuses have limited parking so we recommend using a Park and Ride or public transport where possible.
What to See on the Day
We will contact you a week or so before the Open Day with a timetable for the day. This means you can plan your day in advance to ensure you make the best use of your time.
What's on Offer at the Event
Open Days are busy events and we have a lot to show you at Chester. Here are a few things we think you should prioritise to really help you make the most of the day.
- Departmental and subject talks, demonstrations and tours of facilities: your chance to find out all about our courses and get a flavour of what, how and where you will be learning throughout your degree
- Information sessions on other aspects of student life, including finance and funding and Study Abroad
- Student-led campus tours
- Library tours
- A range of student accommodation available to view throughout the day
Speak to Staff and Students
There will be lots of useful people to speak to at the Open Day. In between attending sessions and tours, head to the Information Fair, where you can pick up information and one-to-one advice from all our academic, extra-curricular and support departments.
Don’t forget to prepare some questions for our current students who’ll be available throughout the day.
Take a Break
There’s a lot to pack in during an Open Day, but remember to take a breather during the day. We have a range of cafes and refreshments being served on campus for you to sample, or you can head into Chester itself…
Explore the City
Our final tip: try and make time to see Chester itself. Only a short walk from most of our campuses, the lively city centre is jam-packed with historic sights and cafes, bars, shops and restaurants to explore. You could even make a weekend of it and see what the wider area has to offer.
