Do you think you’re the next Mark Ronson, Metro Boomin or Grimes? Or maybe ‘the next someone’ isn’t your style and you’re looking to create a completely unique sound?
Whatever your ambition (and we definitely want you to be ambitious), if you believe your future lies in music production then you’ll want to be working with the very best equipment and alongside experts who can inspire you to use it – and use it well.
At the University of Chester’s Creative Campus, Kingsway, our team of highly experienced staff will do just that; work closely with you to develop your unique creativity and artistry.
If you love music, love how it makes you feel and what it inspires you to create, then we want to meet you.
In 2019 the department invested £100,000 in cutting-edge technology and industry standard kit including Slate Raven MTZ touch-screen music production technology, Genelec s360a speakers and Native Instruments Komplete 12 software package which includes the 2019-released Massive X synthesiser.
The investment also included some timeless classics including the Audient ASP8024-HE mixing and recording console, Neumann U47 FET and U87 microphones, and an original 1980s Roland TB-303 synthesiser, the backbone of the Acid House scene.
This kit, which we are adding to all the time, can be used with our Apple Mac computer labs, and a wide range of live performance technology to use on site and / or for external gigs and performances.
It sounds obvious, but the more you practice with these different bits of kit, the more you’ll learn and ultimately the more employable you’ll become. Our graduates go on to work across the music industry - on tour, in the studio, for venues and for themselves.
Whether you are a producer and / or a performer, our course structure and location at the creative hub of the University, will enable you to work collaboratively whilst developing your specific areas of interest and expertise.
Why not come and see if Chester has what you’re looking for?
