The first ever cohort of trainee nursing associates were presented with their awards. The University, in partnership with a group of local NHS trusts, is part of only a select number of providers offering the pioneering nursing associate training.

In addition to our students, there were several notable honorary doctorates awarded. University Chancellor Gyles Brandreth took some time out on the day to explain to Joanna Lumley OBE and conductor Stephen Barlow why they were being honoured.

In the morning ceremony Duncan Selbie was recognised for his outstanding contribution to public health. Dame Patricia Routledge, maybe best known for role as Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances; was also honoured.

As graduation this year coincided with Comic Relief, we couldn’t let the occasion go unnoticed!

Congratulations once again to all our graduates!
