Professional practice is at the heart of our Marketing Management degree, helping students experience the industry through expert speakers and strong links with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Learn all about our Marketing Degree from first yeat student Shakir, who is also taking part in our alumni mentoring project where students are teamed up with professional marketers. His mentor is Joseph Kelly, a Digital Marketing Strategist at Prodo

The other mentors include Jas Baxendale, who is now National Account Executive at Red Bull and Emma Cox, who is Global Digital Marketing manager at Welocalize

They are all alumni of the Business School and are offering their professional experience to help the students gain a current view of the marketing industry.   You can read more about the project in the press release here.

Emma Cox, Global Digital Marketing manager at Welocalize has teamed up with marketing student Rae Murray.   Emma, who also attended the Business School recently as a guest lecturer for second year Marketing students, says: “I am very proud and honoured to be a mentor and I look forward to sharing knowledge, skills and tips with a young budding marketer.”

Digital Marketing students get hands-on with live projects

Students have been making a digital impact for local companies through social media campaigns.  The students are being assessed on their engaging campaigns designed with the audience in mind and using the platform of their choice from Instagram to Snapchat.  For example, Events Management and Marketing student Helene Rimejordet Hogli has created a film of the beautiful walk from her accommodation to the Queen’s Park Campus where she studies.  Originally posted to the University’s Snapchat, the film is available from the University’s YouTube Channel and is being shown at Applicant and Open days.
