Stephen values feeling included and supported and is also giving back by volunteering to help young entrepreneurs in a Young Enterprise scheme and by feeding back on his course to improve the student experience.

Stephen:

“I am currently a Level 4 student studying Business Finance at the University of Chester’s Queen’s Park Campus. I thoroughly enjoy the variety of the modules we learn, and the real-world applications that each module has for us to develop into transferable skills after university. My future ambitions have me looking at a career with one of the big four accountancy firms in the UK.

The University of Chester, from day one, promotes inclusivity and student support as one of its key driving forces and this is clear to see. Through their extensive implementation of student support, engagement and feedback, we as students feel valuable and influential in the development of the courses we are part of, and the University as a whole. The dedicated Business School and library are fantastic resources that allow students to access a wealth of Faculty knowledge as well as physical textbooks and online e-books and journals.

As a mature student (22), I worked as a Sales and Retail manager for 4 years before joining Chester. This prior experience has allowed me to develop the theoretical learning and my own practical applications of business into a genuine comprehension of the module material. Throughout studying at Level 4 I have partaken in the Young Enterprise Business Advisor programme which was promoted by the University as an opportunity to develop mentoring skills, and to share our learning and experience with talented and inventive young entrepreneurs.”
