The British Ecological Society’s annual Undergraduate Careers Conference is an ideal opportunity for students to scope out career options in the sector, and this year was chaired by Dr Simon Oliver, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at Chester.

Third year Conservation Ecology (a course which is now called Zoology) student Mariann Biro was also selected as one of the students to help organise the Conference, providing a fantastic and well-earned opportunity to enhance her CV, network with experts in the field of ecology, and help contribute to the work of the Society.  It follows on from Mariann’s further involvement in ecology conferences and summer schools during her first two years at Chester, demonstrating how it can be possible to enhance your studies and get involved with professional networks from day one.
