At Chester, we offer our students a high-quality academic experience shaped around specialist campuses and sites. The University is made up of five sites in Chester, one in Warrington (our Warrington Campus), and one in Shrewsbury (University Centre Shrewsbury).

Our main campus, Parkgate Road, opened in 1839. It’s a short walk from the city centre and is home to a range of student accommodation and on-campus facilities, including the Learning Resource Centre, catering outlets, Santander bank, chapel and faith spaces, and Chester Students’ Union.

Biological Sciences students have access to three new teaching laboratories containing internet-linked workstations, and our Media students benefit from specialist Journalism rooms and new broadcast studio space.

For those studying Medical and Life Sciences, research-quality instrumentation and industry standard facilities are available. At Parkgate Road, we have modern laboratories including a tissue culture suite, and microbiology, molecular and protein analysis laboratories.

Our Psychology students have exclusive use of eight adaptable experimental rooms and access to a number of laboratories and varied equipment, and our Food, Nutrition Sciences and Dietetics students benefit from newly built science laboratories with modern facilities and equipment, as well as bespoke exercise physiology and clinical nutrition laboratories.

If you’re studying Sport at Chester, you can expect well-equipped laboratories for the study of performance, psychology and biomechanics.

You can also benefit from a floodlit 3G synthetic grass pitch, floodlit AstroTurf pitches, running tracks, a 25m heated swimming pool, fitness suites, dance studio/gymnasium, sports halls, squash courts, and rugby, hockey and football pitches.
