Isolated Events Chester presents Music for Mind, an online music and entertainment event in aid of Mind UK, on Wednesday March 10.
Isolated Events is a team of second year Business Management and Events Management students - Cal Davies, Ben Turner, Olaf Synak, Yuchen Luo and Will Lever.
Tickets are only £4 and the online event will be hosted on YouTube between 6pm and 9pm.
The event aims to raise awareness of, and funds for, Mind UK which provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. The charity campaigns to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Due to the pandemic mental health issues are at an all-time high, meaning Mind has been busier than ever, and such support helps them to be there for those who need them at this crucial time.
Music for Mind will feature four Chester-based DJs - team member Cal Davies, Hobkirk, Toby Williams and Fool’s Gold, who will all play a range of house, disco and indie music.
In-between the sets, guests will get the chance to play in various games of bingo and quizzes hosted by the fabulous drag queen Lady Wanda Why. Guests will be in with a chance of winning one of the many amazing prizes donated by the event’s very kind sponsors, BED Student Rentals, Stunii and Nghtwrk.
Cal Davies, Isolated Events Team Leader said: “2020 was a challenging year for us all; it has affected everyone in different ways, but we are very excited to be working in aid of Mind and with our sponsors to put on an event that will hopefully take everyone’s mind away from the pandemic for a short while. It promises to be an exciting evening that will also support an amazing cause.”
Dr Tim Brown, Programme Leader for Events Management, added: “Music for Mind is an innovative virtual event that helps to highlight the important work and support provided by this amazing charity.
“Despite the challenges presented by the ongoing pandemic, the team has worked exceptionally hard to ensure this event happens and their professionalism and dedication to the charity has been exemplary.”
