Hi everyone, Hayley here! In this week’s blog, I am excited to extend a warm welcome to all our brand new alumni waiting to graduate! By now, you will have all received your degree results after what probably feels like a whirlwind of essays, exam stress, nights out and societies. Speaking from experience, those three or four years at university fly by. It’s not long before you find yourself seated in the grand setting of Chester Cathedral, waiting to receive your degree, wondering what on earth you’re going to do next…

However, your Chester story doesn’t have to end there! Here in the Alumni Office, we aim to help keep you connected with the University long after you have left. By registering as an alumni for free on our website, you can enjoy many benefits, including:

  • Keeping your University email*
  • A digital copy of our annual alumni magazine, The Cestrian, straight to your inbox
  • Use of the libraries and fitness facilities for a reduced fee
  • You might also be eligible for an alumni discount on further study*

Throughout the year, we host a number of events and projects that benefit from the input of our alumni, which we share on our social media. Keep up-to-date with the latest news and events by liking us on Facebook. We love to make keeping in touch as easy as possible, so whether you graduated in 1977 or 2017, why not spark up a conversation by tweeting us at @ChesterAlumni? We are online Monday to Friday, 9 ‘til 5!

Don’t underestimate the power of networking within your alumni community too. After completing your studies, you become part of our 75,000 strong alumni community which is full of friends, colleagues, and who knows, maybe even your next employer! A perfect way to connect with your fellow alumni is by joining our LinkedIn group here.

Finally, don’t forget to follow us on Instagram – after all, a picture speaks a thousand words! Tag @ChesterAlumni or #ChesterAlumni in your pics next time you’re back in Chester or revisiting your old campus.

“One of the benefits of engaging with the University of Chester alumni community and keeping in touch is that you can enjoy reminiscing about your time here, catch up with old friends, and visit the University from time to time. Chester graduates are members of a network of alumni from all over the world, so you’ve got friends for life!” – Victoria Ade-Genschow

“Even though it’s been three years since I graduated from the University of Chester, keeping in touch with the alumni community has been a fantastic way of still being a part of university life and its community spirit. It’s also really interesting to hear the wonderful stories other alumni have to share about their time after university!” – Tori Erskine

“We are so grateful for all the support that the University of Chester has given to us.  The help and experience of our lecturers was invaluable, especially when we were starting out. Connecting with the alumni community is a great way for us to share our success and what we’ve been up to since graduating. It enables us to receive brilliant coverage for our theatre company too.” – Haylo Theatre
