Safety First

We’re really looking forward to welcoming prospective students to our learning sites for Open Days again, and we’ve put measures in place to make sure that everyone can enjoy these events safely.

Importantly, our autumn Open Days have staggered arrival times of 10am, 12pm and 2pm, and activities repeating throughout the day to manage numbers across our sites safely, reducing crowding and queues. Please arrive at the right time and if you’re visiting multiple sites, make sure to allow enough travel time between each subject talk so you don’t miss a thing.

It’s a good idea to bring something a bit warmer to wear, as our buildings will be well ventilated, and please be aware of the signage around our sites indicating traffic flow and room capacities, to enable social distancing.

There are also things that you can do to keep yourself and others safe. We kindly ask that if you're experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has recently tested positive, to please not travel to the Open Day. We would really appreciate our visitors taking a lateral flow test before coming to our sites, and we also recommend and encourage you to wear a face covering if the space is crowded or enclosed.

Must Dos

Now that we’ve covered the safety side of things, here’s some info about what we’ve got planned for our Open Days and what you can get up to.

Attend subject sessions
Your subject session/s will be taking place at the learning site at which your subject’s department is based. If this is not at Exton Park, make sure you take the time to also visit this site. Exton Park isn’t too far from our other learning sites in Chester – around a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute drive – and it’s where you’ll find our Information Fair, have the opportunity to view accommodation, take a tour and meet some of our key teams at the University. If Chester is new to you, having a bit of a walk between sites could be a great way for you to see more of the city.

Visit the Information Fair
Make sure you drop by the Information Fair, it’s well worth a visit as we’ll be on hand to answer all your questions. Here you can find our experts on Admissions, Accommodation, Finance and Funding, Sports and Active Lifestyle, Study Abroad, Careers, Sustainability, as well as representatives from all the academic departments.

Go on a campus tour
We will have student-led campus tours running every 15 minutes throughout the day, from 10am – 5pm. These tours last about 45 minutes and they’re a great opportunity to get a feel for our learning sites.

View our accommodation

You’ll have the opportunity to view some examples of our University and partnership accommodation during the Open Day. Even if you think you already know what you want, it’s well worth taking a look at all the options available to you. Further detail about accommodation options is in the Open Day programme you will receive, or you can ask our experts at the Information Fair.

Have a look around the city
You don’t need to spend long in Chester city centre to understand why it’s such a hit with our students. Just a ten-minute walk from Exton Park, the city centre is home to plenty of places to grab lunch or a coffee during your Open Day.
