What are your tips for attending an Open Day?
Plan what areas of the campus you wish to visit beforehand so you don’t miss out areas which are important to you. Apart from exploring the teaching and lab facilities at Thornton Science Park, you should also visit the main campus at Parkgate Road, where most students find accommodation.
What did you find most useful when attending an Open Day?
Talking to other students on similar courses to my own gave me an insight into student life, particularly as a mature student. I received advice on my finances, and which grants/loans/benefits that I should look into.
What are your tips for picking the right university?
Think about what you might like to do outside of your lessons. It might be sports, gaming, socialising or (just possibly) more studying! Look for opportunities for these activities in a convenient travelling distance from your accommodation – you will be glad of this once the term starts.
Why was the University of Chester the university for you?
Initially, I was looking for a University close to my home. As a commuting student, this was the most important factor for me.
