As part of our World War One Centenary Commemorations, we have planted a variety of trees supplied by the Woodland Trust across our campuses as memorials to our 77 alumni named on the memorial plaque.

A number of oak trees around the United Kingdom have been identified as having been planted from acorns taken from the forests of France a century ago. The UCAA could not obtain acorns from the remaining forest at Verdun, so they chose to work with the Woodland Trust to select species which support wildlife across our campuses and give colour throughout the year.

Tree species include: hawthorn, rowan, blackthorn, silver birch, hazel and common oak.

A special Tree Dedication Service was held during the 2018 Annual Alumni Reunion on the Parkgate Road Campus, led by Dean of Chapel, Peter Jenner.
