My pedagogic research interests include teaching for social transformations, debates, ethics, and students as partners.
My aim is to identify where sustainability happens through intention, where it happens inadvertently, and where it is stymied by the inconsistencies, contradictions and paradoxes that characterise everyday life.
I am interested in internal and external collaborations where geospatial information can provide benefits to local communities facing challenges in public health as a result of environmental change.
I am interested in understanding the impact of rejection by the Church on individuals whom the Church does not accept for ordained Ministry.
Nick is currently leading the BEACHeS Research Study, which is funded by Macmillan Cancer Support.
It fills me with pride to be able to place my own research onto my student’s reading lists and know that I am enriching their learning experience with research-informed teaching.
Currently I am investigating the international issue of the increasing ageing population in the Criminal Justice System.
My keen interest in inter-disciplinary approaches towards research has meant that I have been lucky enough to work with a variety of external bodies and stakeholders to ensure my work has breadth and impact across the UK and beyond.
I am interested in collaborating with scholars across the social sciences and humanities who have a regional interest in Turkey and the Middle East, or a general interest in contemporary Islam.
Blending both environmental and international legal perspectives allows me to offer novel ideas that might have real-world application.
