Why Study English Language with us?

The English Language course at Chester is a recent and popular innovation. We therefore include some of the most cutting-edge subjects in the study of English language and linguistics, such as corpus linguistics (computer-assisted discourse analysis), acoustic phonetics (useful for speech therapy), and cognitive stylistics (how our minds process fictional and non-fictional texts).

You can also study and debate the relationship between language and power, the influence of the media, and conflicts and controversies in the discipline (Language Debates) with the opportunity to contribute to an on-line blog.
