Radio is the soundtrack to your life. It brings the music, news, information and entertainment that matter to you. At the University of Chester, we don’t just study Radio Production – we make it happen. Our award-winning radio station is rooted in this degree course. Our students are broadcasters, reporters, producers and managers – that’s what we do in the course.
Why Study Radio Production with us?
From the outset, you will be broadcasting in teams, in small groups and individually, if you so choose, – and not just in lecture times either. Our radio station – The Cat Radio – is at the heart of campus social life, and is on air and online 24/7. You will have access to the studios till late in the evenings and over the weekends. Your listeners are in the hall next door, all over the country and on the other side of the world.
You will learn in excellent facilities and be taught by staff who are passionate about radio.
The Warrington Campus provides a close-knit community, innovative courses, and a strong focus on employability and transferable skills.
The campus has a range of specialist training, academic and leisure facilities across its 30-acre site. It is home to the North West Media Centre, the Warrington School of Management, dedicated police training facilities and practical nursing workspace.
With the Department of Sport and Community Engagement on site you can enjoy superb sports facilities for academic, recreational and competitive use such as an astro-turf pitch, fitness suite, running track and sports hall which hosts a variety of fitness classes. We’re also the training base for local Rugby League team Warrington Wolves.
Outside of the classroom, open-access computer labs and the £2.3million learning resource centre and library are available for all students.
Following £12million of investment the Warrington Campus combines the best of long-established university traditions with modern developments.
