Why Study Sports Coaching with us?

To create a long-lasting legacy of improvement in coaching and an increase in participation in sport throughout the UK, more active, skilled and qualified coaches are needed to ensure national policies are delivered effectively at a local level in schools, colleges, clubs and community settings.

The BSc Sports Coaching course will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills which are consistent with the vision for coaching in the UK of ‘Coaching in an Active Nation: The Coaching Plan for England (2017-21) as outlined in the revised UK Coaching Framework.

The National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Sports Coaching are embedded into the curriculum, along with sport-specific National Governing Body awards (UK Coaching Certificate) and UK Coaching workshops.

The Department has also developed a strong relationship with Warrington Wolves RLFC and, in particular, the educational and developmental pathway they provide for coaches.
