Chemistry
As a student within the Faculty of Science and Engineering, you’ll be taught by research-active staff, many of whom have experience in industry and running cooperative projects.
Why Study?
We train chemists who are going to solve some of the world’s greatest challenges, from health to climate change. All of our students conduct industrial placements with our partner companies where you will be encouraged to work collaboratively on projects with cross disciplinary groups of scientists and engineers, and you will be able to put everything you learn into practice to gain valuable experience for your CV. If you want to study in an environment where you are challenged, encouraged and nurtured, then this is definitely the place for you.
Where You'll Study
Based at our Exton Park (Parkgate Road) site, you can enjoy working alongside fellow students, academic researchers and commercial enterprises in continuing the legacy of innovation in the North West. As a student, you’ll have access to a range of technical resources, professional modelling software, and access to the Faculty’s supercomputing cluster.
Careers and Employment
With a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical laboratory skills, we want to enable you to translate science into solutions to real-world problems, and prepare you for your future professional career. Our careers service help develop employability skills prior to graduation so that you have a head-start in a competitive world.
