Inspiring Community

Our lively peer workshops, projects and group work, allow you to discuss theories and ideas in an open and positive environment. Staff are published academics with a passion for their subjects, and students are supported to develop their own interests by choosing relevant and inspiring topics to study.

Tailored Facilities

Sociology is taught at The Westminster Building, on Exton Park (Parkgate Road). Close to the campus library, we offer a dynamic learning environment, with shared spaces for students to mix, discuss their work and undertake independent study.

Career-Focused

You’ll have the opportunity to put theory into practice and undertake work experience opportunities such as our Work Based Learning module, an experiential overseas learning placement, or a year of studying abroad. Innovative assessments such as funding proposals, reports, and presentations equip you with the skills you’ll need for the world of work. Our careers service also helps to develop employability prior to graduation.
