Why Study?
The Law School has forged strong links with the city’s legal professions and offers both a theoretical and practical grounding in the relevance of law to today’s society with expertise in Family Law, Criminal Justice, Human Rights and Discrimiation, Law and History, Property Law, European Law, International Law and Environmental Law. It is home to both the Forum for Research into Equality and Diversity (FRED) and the Chester Legal History Forum (CLHiF).
Campus
The Law School is located in dedicated buildings close to the Parkgate Road Campus in Chester. Just a short walk from Chester’s historic city centre. Students here benefit from modern teaching facilities inclusing a mock court room and common room alongside social hubs and accommodation at the heart of the University. The campus also boasts an abundance of green space, providing an inspiring environment in which to live and study.
Strong Connections
We have strong links to the legal profession and you can enhance your employability through our work-based learning module and opportunities such as mooting, debating and guest lectures. In 2016/17, 97% of our full-time graduates (DLHE 2016/17 UK FT First Degree Leavers) went on to further study or employment in a range of rewarding roles, including as barristers, solicitor, paralegals and legal executives, as well as a broad range of non-law related professions, using the valuable transferable skills gained during their degree.
