Law
Chester Law School offers challenging and enjoyable courses that cover the law in terms of its practical professional basis, as well as a wider social and theoretical setting.
Why Study?
Chester Law School has a strong research and research-led teaching ethos based on Human Rights, Discrimination and Equality Law, and Social Welfare including Legal History, Family Law and Education Law.
Where You'll Study
Law is taught at Wheeler in Chester’s vibrant city centre, just a 20-minute walk from our residential site, Exton Park. Wheeler is in Chester’s ‘legal quarter’, sitting between Chester Crown Court and Chester Magistrates’ Court, and in close proximity to most of Chester’s legal firms and barristers’ chambers. As a Law student at Wheeler, you can benefit from our excellent teaching spaces and facilities, as well as a student common room and on-site café. If you undertake Law alongside another subject, you may also be taught at Exton Park or Queen’s Park, which is just a ten-minute walk from Wheeler.
Career-Focused
As well as the academic study of Law and its role in society, our curriculum is focused on maximising your employability potential via taught modules relating to the practice of law, and work placement modules. We offer co-curricular activities including pro-bono and community outreach projects as well as mooting, guest lectures and debating opportunities.
