In September 2021, the University of Chester launched free Carbon Literacy Training, open to students, staff, businesses and individuals. It is part of our transition to Net Zero by 2030 by embedding positive climate action across the University and our wider community.

The Carbon Literacy Programme provides the opportunity to develop your understanding of the science behind climate change, the concept of social justice and provide practical knowledge about how to reduce your carbon footprint. The programme will build confidence to talk to others including fellow students, colleagues or clients.

Additionally, we will offer Carbon Literate Citizens the opportunity to become a Climate Literacy Trainer, whereby you will develop leadership, facilitation and communication skills to deliver training to students, staff, businesses and other individuals.

The next Carbon Literacy Training dates are:

  • Monday 13th to Thursday 16th December, 10am to 12pm.
