Overview
I was fortunate to attend a state school which offered Latin and Greek taught by two enthusiastic Classics teachers.
At the University of Saint Andrews I had the best of teachers in a department led by Sir Kenneth Dover (Greek) and Professor Gordon Williams (Latin).
I qualified as a teacher at Dundee College of Education and graduated with a Diploma in Education from the University of Dundee. Since then I have taught Classics in state comprehensive schools and independent schools, becoming head of department.
I have often taught New Testament Greek to private pupils who intended to go to university to study theology. I taught the New Testament Greek course in Durham University for Prof. James D. G. Dunn. I have also taught in Cranmer Hall, Durham and Luther King House, Manchester.
