Work Based and Experiential Learning
Our innovative Work Based Learning (WBL) module prepares you for employment by giving you the chance to spend five weeks working for a host organisation. Experiential Overseas Learning offers you a five week project at a destination around the globe to experience a practical element to your learning. Most students have the opportunity to undertake either one of these options as an integral part of their undergraduate course.
Courses with a Placement Year
If you are studying a degree with a Placement Year, you’ll have the opportunity to undertake a year’s paid professional placement at the end of your second year. This placement will help develop your skills and knowledge by applying what you have learnt to a work environment.
Vocational Courses
Some of our vocational courses, such as our Midwifery, Nursing, Social Work and teacher education courses, will require you to partake in various placements throughout the duration of your course. This is an essential part of your course that ensures you are fully prepared for your chosen profession. You can find out more detail about these placements on the relevant course page.
