Why Study Sports Coaching with us?

Our Warrington Campus is a unique place to study for your Foundation degree, and is the full-time training base for the Warrington Wolves Super rugby league team. This provides an opportunity to gain genuine insight and experience of a professional sports environment. We also have excellent links with many other local partners.

The course recognises the need to be qualified in order to obtain work-related opportunities, and you will be prepared for professional recognition by 1st4sport. If you already possess relevant awards and have appropriate experience, you may be able to select modules that develop your broader management knowledge and skills.

We also currently provide students with the opportunity to acquire a Level 1 coaching award and attend three Sports Coach UK (SCUK) workshops at no extra cost.

Warrington Campus

The Warrington Campus specialises in delivering innovative and employment focused courses within four main sectors: Media; Business; Public Services; and Sport.

In the past ten years, the campus has benefited from a £12 million investment in new buildings and facilities, including a new Students’ Union bar, library and business centre. And with all the student accommodation located right at the heart of the campus, this only reinforces the sense of Warrington being a close-knit and supportive campus to study at.

In addition to this, you’ll also find staff from our award-winning Student Support and Guidance team, and from our Careers and Employability team, based at the Warrington Campus. You’ll also never be hard pressed to find a computer at one of our open-access computer suites.

The multiprofessional partnerships we have formed with organisations such as the Cheshire Police Service and Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club further enhance our courses and your employability.

If Media is your thing, you’ll benefit from the top-end facilities available within the North West Media Centre. These include industry standard TV and music studios, media and radio production laboratories, photography studios, Mac labs and journalism suites. The Warrington Campus also has great sports facilities, and is the training ground for Warrington Wolves.
