Moving to a second career in higher education David has been a subject leader, Director of Programmes and Vice Dean in the Education Faculty at Liverpool Hope University prior to his move to the University of Chester initially as Deputy Dean and currently as Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education and Children’s Services.

David has over 30 years’ experience in school governance, leadership and accountability and in leading significant projects, for example as chair of the Transition Group merging two large secondary schools in a brand new £33m build school in St Helens.

Currently David is chair of two multi-academy trust boards for the Church of England Diocese of London and sits on the Diocesan Board of Education for Chester. In addition to his leadership of the Faculty, David is also CEO of the University of Chester Academies Trust (UCAT), a group of seven schools (four Secondary and three Primary) across the North West.
