Qualifications
BA (Newcastle), MBA (Chester), ACMA.
Richard joined the University in 2002 as a Management Accountant, and held several senior finance posts before being appointed Chief Financial Officer/Bursar in June 2016 and in September 2017 became Pro Vice-Chancellor Resources.
Richard studied Accounting and Financial Analysis at Newcastle University and after graduating with a BA(Hons) qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) at a licensed wholesale company in Deeside, he went on to undertake his MBA here at Chester.
His responsibilities include:

- Financial returns to: HEFCE, NCTL, NHS
- External Audit
- Subsidiary companies
- Procurement and VFM
- Financial planning
- Tuition and Accommodation fees
- Supplier payments
- Costing and Project accounting
- Finance system
