We are extremely proud of our diverse and varied Partnership, which provides our students access to expertise, contexts and experiences that enrich the training we offer. We pride ourselves on collaborative work with Partners and many mentors, colleagues, and senior leaders are Chester alumni. We strive for excellence within the ITE Partnership with Partners who make a commitment to ensure that students receive the highest quality training and learning experiences. Our growing and vibrant Partnership comprises over 500 schools and settings that share the aspiration of creating a resilient, research-informed and committed workforce of educational professionals for the future.

Train to be a Lead Mentor

Lead mentors have an essential role in all University of Chester ITE programmes and we are pleased to offer a training programme for suitable candidates, which will:

  • Be free of charge for all who successfully apply.
  • Be recognised by other accredited training providers.
  • Be made up of a selection of modules taught asynchronously, and/or in twilight and week-end schools.
  • Give all successful applicants the opportunity to accredit this training free of charge into a Post Graduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring on completion of additional accredited learning and associated assignments.

The recruitment process will involve an application form and interview. Suitability for the training will be assessed using essential and desirable criteria, as detailed in the downloadable application form below.

Once candidates are accepted on to the programme, they will be invited to complete a Training Needs Analysis document which will help in agreeing the level of prior knowledge and enable training delivery to be tailored according to individual need. This is likely to mean that those with extensive prior experience will not be required to attend all the training.
