Eva has been working at the University of Chester in the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Team since 2013. She has been involved in all aspects of EAP work within the team, including the delivery of entry and exit assessments, pre-sessional and in-sessional coordination and teaching, one-to-one tuition, as well as a variety of teacher training and other cohort-specific programmes.

Following her graduation and initial teacher training in Cambridge, she lived and taught in Greece and the Czech Republic. On completion of her higher teaching qualification, and with experience as a director of studies, she moved into Further Education, and became qualified as an ELT teacher trainer, working in London, Newport and Chester, ultimately as an ESOL Programme Leader. During this time, she also engaged in over a decade of English Language Assessment work for Cambridge ESOL and Trinity ESOL before beginning work in Higher Education.

Eva has over 30 years’ experience in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT), English Language Assessment and ELT Teacher Training. She engages in reflective practice and the development of best practice, encouraging the sharing of ideas, resources and skills within and across cultures. She believes that lifelong learning is an intrinsic feature of effective teaching, and at the University of Chester, the EAP team and the provision offered has been steadily growing in order to meet the needs of students and to foster meaningful communication amongst and between students and staff.
