Martin Dobie

After graduating from his BA and doing his initial CTEFLA, Martin completed his MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT at St Mary’s College, University of Surrey in 1996 and worked for Eurocentres London Victoria as Teacher of English as a Foreign language (TEFL) for 10 years. He has also taught English in Greece and the Czech Republic. He taught English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) as Programme Leader for ESOL in the Further Education sector at West Cheshire College. Martin has been a CELTA teacher trainer for over 20 years and has worked in Higher Education as Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes since 2011.

Martin has taught on a range of ELT and teacher training courses.

Martin’s main area of current research is in the application of corpus linguistics for English language teaching.
