Simone Hatchard

Simone Hatchard is a lecturer in Criminology within the Department of Social and Political Sciences. Simone's primary areas of interest and expertise are homicide, the investigation of homicide, and digital forensics. 

Simone is due to complete a PhD in 2023 and holds a master's in criminology and a degree in criminology/sociology and Simone has over 18 years' experience working in the criminal justice sector.  Simone also writes and conducts research for the publication Policing Insight and is a visiting lecturer and module leader of Understanding Homicide at the University of South Wales.

Simone is module leader at the University of Chester on the Level 5 Crime, Harm and Victimisation module and also teaches on other modules and supervises undergraduate dissertations.
