Geoff Elvey

Geoff Elvey joined the Cheshire Constabulary in 1984 after serving 5 years in the Royal Navy working in submarines as an apprentice electrician.

As a police officer he spent the majority of a 27-year career working within crime investigation at various ranks mostly in a leadership and management capacity. Some of these roles included responsibilities such as the Head of the Force Intelligence Bureau, leading homicide investigations as a Senior Investigating Officer, managing covert operations, working for the Home Office writing a National Domestic Burglary Investigation Good Practice Guide and finally as the Head of Investigative Skills Training where he was responsible for the professionalisation of Investigative Skills courses into Higher Education qualifications and the development of the partnership with Cheshire Constabulary.

Geoff took up his current as the Police Programme Manager for the University of Chester in November 2010 where he is responsible for working with the police service and other law enforcement agencies in the further design of policing study programmes and development of partnerships.
