Mike Parsons

Mike was a Merseyside Police officer for 26 years before joining the University of Chester.

For the majority of his career he was involved in covert operational police duties both within Merseyside and Nationally. In 1997 Mike joined Special Branch working in intelligence, investigation and analytical roles. Mike then spent a number of years within an Organised Crime Group intelligence development unit.

Mike delivered Police training for 16 years and was one of three officers within the UK attached to ACPO TAM responsible for maintaining a cadre of Police officers to provide a multi-agency intelligence response to certain terrorist incidents. As such he worked closely with specialist military units and other Government Departments. He successfully gained a PGCE teaching qualification and is currently studying for an MSc in Psychology.
