I qualified as a nurse in 1998 after working for several years as a Biological Scientist in the pharmaceutical and research industry in the UK and USA. I have experience in various clinical specialties including ITU, Neurosurgery, General Medicine and Rehabilitation. I am also a qualified nurse in France and have worked as a community nurse and in the French equivalent of ITU.

I joined the Faculty at Chester University initially as a Visiting Lecturer in 2020 and now a Senior Lecturer based at the Shrewsbury campus. I teach on the pre-registration Bachelor of Nursing course, predominantly within the clinical skills modules. In addition to my pre-registration teaching, I am also the Programme Lead for Return to Practice Nursing.

I have a diverse range of research interests, from clinical and operational healthcare management to cell signaling pathways in disease progression. More recently, research interests have been focused on improving the patient experience within acute healthcare settings.
