Anna Sung

Dr. Anna Sung has cross-disciplinary background in Finance, Technology, Business, Biotechnology and Higher Education. She is qualified as a Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Technologist. In addition, Anna received her BSc (Hons) in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Graduate Diploma in Research related to health and human behaviour and Master of Business Administration from the University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), University of New England (Australia) and Edinburgh Napier University, (U.K), respectively. In addition, Dr. Anna Sung received her Doctor of Business Administration from the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), Spain.  Her thesis topic is about microlearning and multimedia learning in Higher Education.

Dr. Anna Sung is a pioneer in FinTech education. Before joining the University of Chester, she was the programme leader of the UK’s first undergraduate degree dedicated to FinTech and was the Founding Centre Lead of the FinTech Innovation Centre at Glyndwr University.

Dr. Anna Sung is also a steering committee member of FinTECHTalents. She had been invited to deliver FinTech talks in different events, for example at the FinTech 2017 conference in Dubai, UAE and Digital Future in Wrexham, etc. Anna actively participates in FinTech related industrial meetings such as FinTech Roundtable meeting organized by the FCA in 2017. In addition, her research outputs related to FinTech also appear in various academic journals.

As a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, Anna has solid international higher education experience. She has worked for Universities in both Hong Kong and the UK. Moreover, she served as academic links for partners located in various countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

Anna joined the University of Chester in January 2019 as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. Her current research interests include Financial Technology (FinTech), innovation management, data mining and behavioural data analytics. She has been invited as reviewer for textbooks in various field, such as quantitative methods and innovation management.
