Maeve Marmion | University of Chester

She teaches across International Tourism and Events Management and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

She joined Chester Business School in 2010. During that time she had led modules, programmes and academic teams.

She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with a PhD awarded from Bournemouth University in 2012.

Her research focuses on heritage tourism, heritage management, responsible and sustainable tourism, tourism and seniors and tourism ethics. She leads a number of modules and teaches a range of subjects including: tourism ethics, service experiences, research methods, sustainability, tourism and events in the 3rd sector and the future of the tourism industry. She supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research.

Previous academic experience includes teaching at the University of Portsmouth Business School and Bournemouth University’s School of Tourism.

Tourism Ethics – including social, environmental and political issues and the ethics of animals in tourism
Heritage Management – including heritage tourism management, attractions and experiences
Ethics in Marketing – including social causes and the 3rd (Not for Profit) sectors
Qualitative Research Methodologies – including netnography, focus group research and qualitative analysis techniques
