Michael Smith

Michael has significant commercial experience working in Accounting and Finance for world leading organisations. Including Directorship level at JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley within their global equities’ businesses.

He is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with PwC while working as an auditor, having also worked as an Economist for the UK Government Economic Service.

He began working in academia in 2015 and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to joining the University of Chester in 2022, Michael had experience teaching at the University of North Texas, the University of Wolverhampton and Keele University among others. He is currently an external examiner at Manchester Met University.
