Andrew Muncey

Andrew is the Head of the Department of Computer Science and lecturer on a number of undergraduate programming modules. Andrew has been lecturing at the University of Chester in various capacities since 2011, and is currently the programme leader for the BSc Computer Science programme.

Andrew’s experience prior to teaching includes working as the lead developer for a software development company, specialising in web and mobile application development. Before that he worked in further education supporting students gaining IT qualifications. Andrew has also carried out contract IT work for the NHS.

Andrew specialises in the teaching of programming at undergraduate level, with a particular emphasis on mobile development, teaching both Android Development and iOS Development. Currently the primary languages he teaches are Java, Kotlin and Swift, however he has taught modules with both Objective-C and C# in the past.

Andrew is currently undertaking a PhD in the domain of supporting and assessing students studying introductory programming through the use of industry standard testing and integration tools.
