Student Services - Residential Life

Residential Life comprises of a team of staff and students who are here to help build a sense of community and social responsibility among residential students. They offer support and information to help you make the most of your time living in University of Chester owned accommodation.

Meet the team!

Residential Advisors (RAs):

  • Are here to help new students to settle in and give useful information on how to navigate living in Halls of Residence. The RAs were new students not so long ago and they understand the mixture of excitement and apprehension everyone feels at first. They can be contacted via email or on your Hall’s Teams group.
  • RAs can respond to queries and can signpost to wider professional services. Please note that RAs cannot respond to sensitive or complex disclosures and will always refer you to Student Services for appropriate support.
  • Your RA will hold Flat Chats either in your halls or on Teams, to offer advice and respond to queries. They can help you and your flatmates to agree on house rules, in accordance with Accommodation regulations. Make sure to check out our Chester Resident's Handbook for 2023-24 for more details.

Do try to engage with your RA, they have a wealth of experience at the University and are there to help.

We run regular events providing you with the opportunity to socialise, learn something new, and explore the City of Chester.

Meal Schemes

The meal schemes are designed for students living in self-catered accommodation, private sector accommodation or at home. They offer substantial savings and can help students to budget and ensure regular and healthy meals.

The lunch scheme entitles students to eat at a selection of our dining facilities, there is a choice between a two-course meal or freshly made sandwiches, plus a salad and snack bar.

The full meal scheme also includes an evening meal comprising a main course and either a starter or dessert. It also features meat-free options.

Payments for the scheme are based on three instalments, one at the start of each term.

When accepting your accommodation offer you will be able to select a meal scheme if you require one. For those students not offered university accommodation or living in the private sector please contact the accommodation office for further details.
