Chester boasts impressive facilities across Exton Park and neighbouring sites catering to our ever-growing University sports clubs and recreational users.
Gym
Our gym has over 100 pieces of equipment to suit your needs, from Cardio machines, Resistance machines, Free weights, Lifting Platform, Functional exercise space and Spin studio.

We accept card and online payments for memberships and facility charges. If you are paying in person at reception, please ensure you bring your student or staff card.

Swimming Pool
We have a 25-metre length Swimming Pool at Exton Park Campus with a depth ranging from 1.5-metres to 3.5-metres. Our Swimming Pool can be used recreationally as well as a training facility for our University Swim and Waterpolo Clubs.

Spin Studio
You can join in to Virtual and/or instructor-led classes. Virtual Spin accessible during gym opening hours.

We have a range of classes to suit all abilities and our classes are run by qualified Fitness Instructors. All our Fitness Classes are FREE. Must be BOOKED via Playwaze

The following University of Chester branded merchandise can be bought at the Fitness Suite: Bucket Hats, Athletic Union T-shirts (white), Water Bottle, Gym Towel, Drawstring bag. Also, a range of University of Chester branded O’Neill’s sportswear can be bought online.
Active Zones
We have Active Zones at University of Chester Shrewsbury and University Centre Birkenhead, Marriss House sites.
No membership is required to use our Active Zones.
Please be aware that the active zones are only accessible during site opening hours.
University Centre Birkenhead, Marriss House facilities include:
- Treadmill, Recline Bike, Spin Bike, Rowing Machine, Mats, Core bags, Skipping Ropes, Steps and Plyometric Box.
