Academic Skills

Our team of advisers can offer you a range of ways to help you to develop your academic skills, including: the provision of online resources; remote support through our Feedforward e-assistance service; seminars on a range of study skills topics; and tailored one-to-one appointments.

Academic Skills (ASk)

The Academic Skills team provides:

  • General advice on developing academic skills.
  • A service for all University of Chester students, whatever their previous academic background or current attainment.
  • Support that can be accessed in a variety of ways.
  • Signposting - If we cannot help, we will give advice on where to go.

ASk covers the core skills needed for studying at university, such as reading, planning assignments, academic writing, academic integrity, and maths or statistics skills that might be needed.

ASk Advisers offer support for any student to develop their skills whatever their academic background and whatever their current level of attainment.

There are a range of ways to access our help, both online and on campus, depending on your requirements: email assistance and one-to-one appointments for support focussing on your individual development; workshops and online resources for general development advice and information.

The ASk team are part of the wider university support network. If we cannot help you directly then we will make sure that we signpost you to the right place.
