A safe environment for you to discuss with a qualified person, any difficulties you may be experiencing.

University life provides opportunities for personal growth and development; however, it can sometimes produce a great deal of stress. The reasons for this can be wide ranging including academic pressures, social problems, managing pre-existing health concerns and other difficulties of a personal nature. Student Counselling provides an opportunity to discuss any difficulties you may be experiencing in your life that are impacting on your time at University with a qualified person.

Counselling is a process which enables you to explore and make sense of issues that may be distressing you or disrupting your life. It can also help you develop skills to help manage difficulties such as anxiety, stress, and low mood.

Everyone brings different concerns to counselling. If you are not sure if it is right for you please come and talk to us.

We offer

  • An Initial Consultation for you to learn more about the process, identify your concerns and goals; so you can decide if Student Counselling is the right service to meet your needs
  • If you opt-in to Student Counselling we offer a short-term programme of counselling focused on what you want to get out of the sessions
  • An opportunity to build on and learn new skills to support yourself
  • Assistance with accessing other University or external services (e.g. NHS)
  • As a university student you can also access the confidential online mental health resource, TogetherAll.
