Local Part-time Jobs

Wherever you're studying, you'll probably find that your local area has lots of part-time jobs available for students. The location of the University's learning sites makes it easy to access part-time jobs, with a huge range of different roles available right on your doorstep. Many local employers offer flexible working hours for students, enabling you to earn while you learn alongside your studies.

Chester’s bustling city centre has a variety of part-time jobs that are suitable for students. "I applied for a position via UniJob because it was on campus which saved me all the hassle and time of traveling when the workplace was right next to me! The application process was quick, simple, fair and less nerve-racking than other application processes. If my application hadn't been successful, the UniJob team are able to provide feedback which is very helpful for future applications."

Employer in the Foyer Events

Employer in the Foyer events are one of the ways you can meet employers on campus. If you're seeking part-time or seasonal work or if you're looking for a graduate-level role, you can meet recruiting organisations throughout the academic year.

Many of our students wish to earn some extra money while studying and undertaking part-time work helps you to do this, as well as boosting your future career prospects. Through our current ‘Earn While You Learn’ campaign we are particularly encouraging employers to consider advertising any part-time and summer jobs they may have available now or in the near future.

These informal events are a great way for you to connect with employers, find out more about their company and have an informal chat about the opportunities they have for students and graduates. It's also a chance to ask questions about their recruitment processes and leave a fantastic first impression.

You can take a look at all upcoming Employer in the Foyer events and pencil them in your diary. No need to book, just turn up, say "hello" and take the first step towards an exciting opportunity.

We have a range of employers coming in with their opportunities including:

  • Hospitality
  • Customer Services
  • Care Workers
  • Youth Work
  • Education/Teaching
  • American Summer Camps
  • Sports and Fitness
